1. Income tax
Each rate only applies to the slice of income inside that band.

2. Your tax code

3. ACC earners levy
1.75 cents per dollar earned, up to $156,641 of earnings. The most anyone pays in a year is $2,741.22. It comes out with your tax.
4. KiwiSaver
From 1 April 2026 the minimum is 3.5% of your gross pay from you, and at least 3.5% from your employer. You can choose 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%. Your employer does not have to match anything above the minimum.
5. Student loan
With a salary, use code M SL. You repay 12 cents of every dollar above $24,128 a year ($464 a week).
