What happened

Police say a woman and her seven-month-old daughter died in a crash involving more than one vehicle on Oruru Road in Peria, in the Far North. Both were found deceased at the scene.

The crash happened on 26 August. Police released the pair's ages and hometown this week: the woman was 35, and both were from Peria. Police have named them, but we are not naming them here.
